Our Tuition Choices

Individual & Ensemble Music Tuition

The teaching environment and access to facilities at Harrogate Music School allows the teachers to give all students the time and attention they need in order to succeed musically, whether that is through taking exams or playing for fun . We believe in offering a flexible approach to maximise learning potential and mastering the fundamental techniques required.

Latest additions to our individual tuition programmes include several string ensembles. These develop from an absolute beginner ‘whole-class’ style group called ‘Strings 4 Starters’, through ‘Ready, Steady, Bow’, an ensemble experience for those around grades 1 to 3, up to ‘All Strung Out’ a more advanced group.

Since starting with one ensemble in September 2015, we have witnessed an impressive building of numbers of string students alongside a large development in their standard and speed of progress. We recommend that all string players consider taking part in one of our groups. If you have questions, please contact us.

Fantastic Facilities

Each student has access to high quality, purpose built well ventilated practice rooms and equipment, designed to enable a positive experience.

Our drum studio features two full drum kits and a host of percussion equipment, whilst the majority of our Piano lessons are either taught on a Yamaha grand piano or a recently fully reconditioned Yamaha U3 upright. This helps to enthuse and excite our students and in doing so, promotes regular practice habits.

Life Long Learning

We believe in equipping our students with the musical skills to be able to learn for the rest of their lives!

By instilling in them a method of analytical musical thinking and self-improvement, they will develop independent and critical thinking skills. These are all necessary characteristics to becoming high performers in their chosen careers, as well as enjoying and making the most of their musical experiences.
